May 2014 DACC FEATURE CAR

In the chase for a 1957 Baby Blue Convertible that I built for my wife and sold 10 years ago, I attended a Mecum Auction that had what appeared to be that ’57 Convertible.  She said she would like to have the car back so we went to the auction in Little Rock, Arkansas to verify that this was the same car.  It was!  So we bid hoping to get the car back but it went for over $80,000 and we stopped our bidding there.  However, we are always chasing a car and ended up bidding on a red and white ’57 Bel Air hardtop.  Since it had new tires and all the mechanicals appeared to be in good shape, I drove it back to Dallas from Little Rock without a hitch!  Our first big club event with the ’57 was the Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention in 2013 in San Angelo where we drove with the club to and from again without a issue one!  And we did it again this year to Houston for this year’s Lone Star event!  It is an original restored Chevy from Arizona with all original glass, has a rebuilt 283 with a 2 barrel carb and automatic tranny.  New paint and interior was part of the restoration and it has the popular one piece bumper.  There is no evidence that this car has had body work ever done to it!  I drive this car regularly now and enjoy every minute of it!
